Knives: Happiness

After the great reception of their early singles Doppelgänger and Headcase, Bristol-based sextet Knives returns with their anticipated EP, What We See In Their Eyes. New track and video reveal, Happiness, serves as a dynamic opening to the fresh EP, exploring the essence of countryside living and the sensation of being immersed in its daily rhythms.

Happiness is about being stuck in a village mindset and not being able to break out of the societal norms that have been set in closed communities,” the band comments. “Some of the ideas we see in these places are still stuck in the past and have left a mark on the thinking patterns of the younger generation. It’s a song driven by personal experiences of discrimination that members of our band have faced and how we react to these situations.

The new EP is the result of a collaborative endeavor featuring Maddy Hill contributing on saxophone and vocals, along with Dan Farren and Josh Cook on guitar, Ben Marshall on bass, Erin Cook on drums, and Jay Schottlander taking care of vocals and on-stage banter.
