Fresh off their eminent recent contributions to the TV series, Yellowstone, enigmatic duo, Bad Flamingo, come up with another warm western slowburner through their new single, Open The Gates.
Similarly to the previous single, Fire, the new song also takes its indie country and Americana route through traditional soul and rhythm 'n' blues, always by way of the western desert. More minimal and direct that most of their earlier offerings, Open The Gates sounds warmly familiar like an old country standard and a first line spaghetti western flick, yet, it moves the band's creativeness one more solid step ahead, and clues the listener in on their artful mystery.
It's all fancy and stirring, but far from showy, and the pretty much direct musicianship is always there for the win.
