Braga, Portugal psych-rock quartet TRAVO return with WASTELAND, their fourth studio album and first release for Fuzz Club. Due October 2nd, 2026, the record finds the band embracing their heaviest and most metallic sound to date while retaining the exploratory instinct at the heart of their work.
Recorded at ARDA Recorders in Porto during early 2026, WASTELAND was produced, mixed and mastered by Jaime Arellano, whose credits include Ghost, Ulver and Behemoth. The album moves away from the fantasy-driven universe of 2023’s Astromorph God and turns towards something more immediate and personal, shaped by the unease of living through an increasingly fractured present.
Loosely inspired by the different sections of T.S. Eliot’s The Waste Land, its songs examine “techno-anxiety, disconnection, dystopia, love, death, rebirth, and the search for collective spirituality,” according to the band. These concerns feed into a genre-bending heavy record that reaches the fringes of extreme metal, generating considerable weight and turbulence while still allowing space for the band's musicianship to breathe.
The title track captures TRAVO’s creative outlook in particularly forceful terms.
