Born in the south of France in 2013, Thalie Némésis creates an dense form of industrialized darkwave in which coldwave atmospheres, abrasive textures, even ethnic resonances and mystical tension become closely entwined. At its centre is a versatile voice explores retention, distortion, feminine archetypes and the transformative possibilities of sound.
Following the intensity of the 2025 EP Catarsi Apotropaica, the project now moves into a new phase with Dé(s)Figurations. Co-produced by Peter Rainman, the ten-track album deepens Thalie Némésis’ characteristic language while placing ideas of damaged identity, altered form and inner transformation at the forefront.
Acedia (Is My Partner in Crime) makes an immediate impression through its propulsive darkwave pulse. Danceable and instantly memorable, the song carries a pronounced emotional fragility without ever losing its composure. Its rhythmic confidence pushes it firmly towards the dark dancefloor, while the vocals introduce a more vulnerable current beneath the track’s commanding exterior.
That contrast gives the song much of its appeal as sorrow and momentum coexist, with private desolation reshaped into something physical and empowering. It's a strong track that evokes darkness, gives it a beat and invites it to move.
