King Yosef: Molting Fear

From the shadows of Portland’s underground to the global stage, King Yosef has emerged as one of the most arresting voices in modern heavy music. Originally gaining recognition as a hip-hop producer, Tayves Yosef Pelletier began releasing music under the King Yosef moniker in 2017. Since then, he’s been relentlessly refining a brutal, genre-blurring sound, fusing the punishing intensity of metallic hardcore with the textures of industrial and modern electronica.

King Yosef’s creative momentum surged with a collaborative release alongside Youth Code, and seemed to develop further with 2023’s An Underlying Hum, a release which launched him into the international spotlight. Following the album's release, he shared stages with heavyweights such as Converge and HEALTH.

Spire of Fear is King Yosef's new album, marking the project's transcendence from a visionary solo act into an unrelenting force. Recorded and mixed at GodCity Studio by Kurt Ballou and Zach Weeks, and mastered by Alan Douches, the album captures a new level of cohesion for what King Yosef has to offer.

First single, Molting Fear, is a chaotic number, made of equal parts serrated riffs and glitching electronics. Just as fans have come to expect from the artist’s recent work, the latest track erupts with unrelenting intensity. It's a sonic avalanche, breathtaking and brutal, blending beauty with menace in a way that hints at an upcoming album poised to hit hard and cut deep.
