Scott Evil is a new and exciting alternative rock project from Cologne, Germany, with easily discernible emo and shoegaze influences. The band have just released their new EP, Quaranteens, a fantastic five-song offering in which they employ influences from the forefront of shoegaze to amp up the wistfulness and the heaviness, resulting in an exquisite listen.
The title track of the EP finds the band paralleling early nineties shoegaze, and like the rest of Scott Evil's new material, it appears splendidly produced. Quaranteens, as its title suggests, is the product of its own time and era, articulating the voice of its own generation while recognizing its roots and background, coming from a promising, brimming with vitality new band.
