Hákon Aalsteinsson is an experienced Icelandic musician who helms the project Gunman & The Holy Ghost. Hákon, who now resides in Berlin, was a member of the Icelandic band Singapore Sling and presently fronts The Third Sound, and also plays with The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
Gunman & The Holy Ghost began as a side project with Icelandic friends in Berlin and now has become a solo venture. On the forthcoming album, The Death of Gunman and The Holy Ghost, Hákon performed and recorded all of the music entirely alone in his home studio. The album title refers to the idea of the completion of one chapter and the start of another.
Stockholm City is the new single off the impending album, an atmospheric, dark-Americana infused ballad with a melancholic and psychedelic character reminiscent of Lee Hazlewood's dark elegance and the timelessness of Gram Parsons. The song comes with a video directed by Lilly Elizabeth Creightmore.
The Death of Gunman and The Holy Ghost releases in Summer 2022 via Little Cloud Records.
