Shockchords: Happy Hour

Liverpool based experimental duo, Shockchords, cite inspiration from Burroughs' Cut-Ups, early psychedelia and noise, and they have just emerged with their debut double-single, Ss / Hh, out on SPINE Records.

The two-song release is composed of a cover of Shifting Sands, a song originally on the 1967 album Part One, by The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, and new track, Happy Hour, which is a clear demonstration of Shockchords' own unconventional, exploratory disposition.

The two pieces constitute a cohesive union under the upcoming duo's apt treatment, sounding brooding and quite discernibly idiosyncratic.

Ss / Hh was mastered by Jack Wait at Quarry Studios, Liverpool.
