In a rather wild and eccentric blend New Orleans punks, Special Interest, manage to bring together sounds and elements from no wave, glam rock and industrial music, and come up with something which essentially defies labels.
The band released their debut album, Spiraling, in 2018, followed by The Passion Of two years later. The upcoming Trust No Wave: The 2016 Demos is a collection of raw versions of tracks off their first full length alongside four previously unheard ones.
One of the new pieces is the furious opening track, Disease, which showcases Special Interest at their roughest and fiercest, being a case of chronological misplacement, and belonging more fittingly in the late seventies.
Special Interest are Alli Logout (vocals), Ruth Mascelli (synth, drum machine), Maria Elena (guitar), and Nathan Cassiani (bass).
