Monster Magnet: Learning to Die

Monster Magnet covering Dust means such perfect compatibility. For their coming album, A Better Dystopia, the psych stoner rock veterans have made an excellent pick of early proto-metal and more contemporary psychedelic rock obscurities, and evidently the result pays off.

"Learning To Die blew me away when I was 15 and it still blows me away," says frontman Dave Wyndorf. "Man, do I LOVE to sing this song. Dust was one of the greats."

Learning To Die was part of Hard Attack, the second and final album by New York hard rockers, Dust, originally released in 1972 by Kama Sutra Records. Monster Magnet's new take is pretty faithful to the electricity and grit of the original, and it's the track which brings the impending album to a full-blooded conclusion.

A Better Dystopia releases on May 21st, 2021, through Napalm Records.
