Olympia, Washington band, Holyhead, follow their self-titled EP from last year with the new standalone single, Losing Light, and its accompanying clip which lifts its footage from the1970 16mm film, Omega.
The new single is a continuation of the band's super fuzzy and raw psychedelic shoegaze sound. It was recorded live on a Tascam 424 4-track, and its unpretentious immediacy is one of its strongest qualities, together with an extra fuzzed up type of coarseness which results to the song eventually coming across like a tainted version of My Bloody Valentine, mingled with the hallucinogenic properties of Loop and Spacemen 3.
The new single is out through the trusty Olympia-based DIY tape label, 2060.
