Did You Die: We Can Do Whatever

Vancouver shoegazers, Did You Die, release another standalone single, this time harnessing their influence from David Lynch and the world of Twin Peaks, as well as from Phil Collins' 1985 album, No Jacket Required, from which the drum sounds where directly sampled with additional AMS reverb.

The melodious new cut, We Can Do Whatever, was mixed, mastered and produced by the band's own Richie Felix Alexander (vocals, guitar) at his studio, and its lyrics are a collaboration between Alexander and Amanda Doucette (guitar) who also provides the lead vocals. The track preserves the fuzzy shoegaze character of the previous offerings Did You Die have put out, and shows a bit of a softer and more tuneful direction for the band at which they sound pretty comfortable.

The new song comes with a balmy video of VHS-style visuals which involves more Vancouver talent, as it was shot by artist Janna Hurtzig and features musician Nancy Gibos from the indie rockers, Lambsbreath.
