Swiss post-hardcore band, Oregon Trail, will be releasing their sophomore full length, h/aven, on February 16th 2018.
Since their debut in 2015 the band moved to a cold rural place in the Swiss mountains, Le Locle, where they worked their creative ways towards developing a sound that would be unique and convey the bleakness of their environment. From the desolation and strength of Aimless At Last - the first single off the upcoming album, its sentimentality and its fierceness, it sounds like Oregon Trail overcame their goals.
Implementing elements and aesthetics from post punk, hardcore, post rock and extreme metal, Oregon Trail's spirited sound certainly results to something that belongs within the barriers of post-hardcore, still, this eclectic compound of theirs can be as exceptional as it is fascinating. From the raw energy of their musicianship to the existential themes and substance, the Swiss band's detailed sound comes with a melodic clarity; contemplative and freeing at the same time.
