No Joy: More Faithful

More Faithful is the title of No Joy's third album, released via Mexican Summer on June 9th. Fans of their previous efforts, particularly Wait To Pleasure, will not be disappointed.

No Joy were formed in 2009 and since then, after three albums, three EPs, a few 7-inches and a lot of shows, they're still going uphill. For this one the Montreal shoegazers have worked with Jorge Elbrecht (Ariel Pink producer), possibly the reason for the psychedelic overtones on top of the album's many layers of dreamy soundscapes and ethereal vocals.

Singer-guitarist Jasamine White-Gluz’s delicate vocals blend perfectly and balance with the intense and sharp distortion and lyric wise the album is very intimate and warm. More Faithful is probably No Joy's most pungent and heaviest work to date, a most appropriate summer soundtrack to accompany one's excursion, leisure or simple daydream.
