Icelandic composer, Atli Örvarsson, has been incredibly prolific over the last few years, and has contributed to numerous film and TV scores, earning awards and nominations for a big part of his work.
Örvarsson has written music for popular films like Season of the Witch, Babylon A.D., Vantage Point, more recently Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga and The Hitman's Bodyguard, as well as TV hits like Law & Order and Defending Jacob.
Solid Ground was originally part of Örvarsson's 2020 album, You Are Here, and has just been reworked by composer, and producer, Paul Corley, a collaborator to great acts such as Sigur Rós, Jóhann Jóhansson, Anohni, Oneohtrix Point Never, Tim Hecker, Ben Frost and more.
Corley's take on Solid Ground translates the piece's classical core into something more experimental, ambient and drone leaning, demonstrating the beautiful composition's duality and its distinction, combining minimalism with traditional forms.
