The Notwist: Where You Find Me

Veteran indie rockers, The Notwist, have gone through a few different styles during their long career which has left behind eight canonical full lengths so far, and several more interesting releases including singles and EPs, live records and music for film. The band prepare to return with their first album in six years, and the first specimens off it show the band's consistency with the more electronica-bent ways of their last few offerings.

Where You Find Me is a compact piece of beautiful, well constructed melancholic pop, on par with Markus Archer's solid songwriting, and he band's regular courting with krautrock and modern electronica.

"We wanted to question the concept of a band by adding other voices and ideas, other languages, and also question or blur the idea of national identity," Archer comments on the new album, and the diverse contributions it includes, such as those by songwriter Juana Molina,  jazz artist Angel Bat Dawid, American multi-instrumentalist Ben LaMar Gay, and Saya of Japanese pop duo Tenniscoats.

Vertigo Days, the upcoming LP by The Notwist, releases on January 29th, 2021 on Morr Music.
