Eyesore & The Jinx: Accidental Weller

Fresh from the release of a quite noticeable EP, Eyesore & The Jinx return with a standalone single which was recorded through the same sessions as The Exile Parlour with Daniel Fox from Girl Band and Matthew Freeman. Accidental Weller is out through Eggy Records, a little ahead of the band's first live performance since February 2020, on October 16th, 2020 as part of new venue Future Yard’s series of socially distanced, live streamed gigs.

Although Accidental Weller is musically up to par with the band's customary post punk nerve, the song takes a different direction from their narratives by way of fictional characters and the social and political unease of their lyrical content, and becomes a direct track about the time one of the band members received a bad haircut.

"Accidental Weller (...), is a cautionary tale about the urge for transformation in all of us," says part of The Lambretta Manifesto penned by the group's own, Josh Miller. "A timely reminder that you’re only ever a few snips away from a bouffant/ mullet hybrid that belongs on a Vespa with a Union Jack paint job, doing 40 mph on an A round somewhere just outside of Luton. A verbal hand on the shoulder, patting you gently, letting you know that whatever plans you have, big or small, never work out quite like you would have wanted them to, much like this pointless, little year."
