Secret Shame: Dissolve

The best thing that has happened to the darkest facet of post punk these last couple of years returns with a standalone new single. Secret Shame follow the triumphant Dark Synthetics (and its associated remix album) with new two-song release, Dissolve b/w Pure, expected out June 5th, 2020, and led off with side-A, Dissolve.

Frontwoman Lena Machina once more captivates through an imposing vocal execution, while she also designs the release's cover art, and directs the accompanying video with cinematography and editing assistance from Rory Rumfelt. Dissolve is oriented toward a more animated new wave sound, and like all of the band's previous material it is still bent on tackling grave themes such as mental illness and abuse by virtue of its articulate and poetic lyrical content.

"A cathartic break from a bad situation, but a gateway to something still destructive," Lena describes the new track. "What are the benefits of nobody knowing what’s on your mind? What are the drawbacks?"
