Asheville through New York dreampop band, Day & Dream, reveal their first new release for 2020, following their series of great singles from last year. A Study In The Pixels Of Your Face was initially written by vocalist and keyboardist, Abby Amaya, for her previous band, Good Night Robot, and found its proper voice through Day & Dream's excellent combination of surf rock and shoegaze.
"This is a song about internet stalking and online dating — we're all guilty of it," the band state. "You find someone that you're really into and don't know much about them so you look them up."
Very much animated and awash with massive, fuzzy guitars and well articulated soft vocals, A Study In The Pixels Of Your Face is one of the band's most accomplished pieces to date. Led by husband and wife, Peter Frizzante and the aforementioned Abby Amaya, Day & Dream keep progressing and blossoming as an act, causing the idea of a potential next full length seem specially appealing.
