The Operators: Despair

Coming on very strong in 2019 with what seems to be their most accomplished, most realized and winsome work thus far, Montreal-based trio, The Operators, release another single off their recently released and very well received album, Radiant Dawn.

Sweepingly pulsating, high spirited and very much forceful, Despair is an ecstatic piece of well constructed, elevated and memorable synthpop artistry, quite impossible to overpass. Dan Boeckner's delivery once again is fully grabbing and very much eloquent, and comes through as the perfect accompaniment to the instrumental richness provided by Devojka's analog synths and Sam Browns relentless rhythms.

The Operators are a supergroup of sorts, composed of Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade, Handsome Furs, Divine Fits), Devojka, and Sam Brown (Divine Fits, New Bomb Turks). Radiant Dawn out now on Last Gang Records, follows their debut album, Blue Wave from 2019, and EP1 from 2014.

The band will be touring Europe this summer, including a London headline show at Sebright Arms in September.
