Late Sea: The Great White

The music of New York trio, Late Sea, is hard to pigeon hole. One can loosely describe its emotion by mentioning all those sweet sounding, more delicate and ethereal genres in one sentence: post-rock, ambient and electronica, but still the listeners would have to listen themselves to figure out the band's sound and vision.

The debut concept EP by Late Sea, The Writers Trilogy, will have visual counterparts accompanying the music. The first track and stunning video, The Great White, is an elegy to the great poet Paul Celan. The band's vocalist (also the song's composer) Izzy Gliksberg states, in regards to his relation with Celan's poetry: "His words are crystalised. My bones glow. The song and video are our attempt to bring that mystery into our work."

The cinematic music video was directed by Emmy nominee Andrey Alistratov and Hazuki Aikawa, and features Isabelle Zufferey Boulton. Watch and listen below.
