Mexico City quintet Suntyde fuse shoegaze expansion with post metal aggression on Metanoia, the second song released by the emerging band. Dense guitars and enveloping synth textures create a dreamlike scale, while growled vocals come perfectly together with the soft ones, and forceful rhythms bring the music back toward something physical.
The group’s sound moves through nu metal, blackgaze and heavy shoegaze. Melancholy and reverie remain central, giving the track a dark intimacy even at its most crushing.
Suntyde consists of lead vocalist and bassist Micaela Anta, guitarist and growler Diego Campillo, guitarist Antonio Romero, drummer Fernando Sierra and synth player Rodrigo Alatorre. The band are currently recording their first EP, scheduled for release in 2027.
Only two songs into their existence, Suntyde have already demonstrated considerable potential. Metanoia presents a group capable of balancing weight, atmosphere and emotional depth while beginning to establish a compelling fresh identity.
