Honey I’m Home reach their most overtly shoegazing form on Soon, surrounding a persistent sense of dissatisfaction with sweetness, distortion and wistful melody. The song considers the endless pursuit of something believed capable of providing happiness, only for that desire to be replaced by another before it can ever be fulfilled.
The emotional restlessness sits beneath music that feels lush and immediately affecting. Misty textures soften the surface, but the band’s sinister visual language introduces a darker implication.
Soon will appear on Honey I’m Home’s forthcoming EP, scheduled for March 2027. A horror-themed VHS live session will accompany the release, extending the tension between the music’s dreamlike tenderness and the project’s unsettling aesthetic. This, here, is a striking combination, and one that leaves an immediate impression.
