Brussels quartet The Ultimate Dreamers return with Forced to Live, the first glimpse of their forthcoming album, Lost Oneironaut. Arriving a year and a half after their previous full length, the single embraces the dramatic conventions of melancholic post punk while opening the band’s sound toward even darker and more organic territory.
Aching guitars glide over a patient, processional rhythm, each beat carrying the weight of another day repeated. The band mentions Camus as an influence on this one, whose work looms over the lyrics, where life's absurdity is met with a delicate balance of melancholy insight and resigned compassion
Forced to Live derives its emotional weight not from melodrama, but from its acceptance of existence as a burden that must anyway be endured.
The Ultimate Dreamers collaborate with Déhà, known for his work with Wolvennest, and longtime producer Len Lemeire of Implant, whose credits also include Anne Clark. Lost Oneironaut is expected to be dark, esoteric and physical when it arrives in March 2027.
