Belarusian trio Dlina Volny display exemplary darkwave and post punk finesse on Vochy, their first song performed in their native language. Originally from Minsk and now based between Warsaw and London, the band merge Eastern European post punk severity with Western darkwave and synthpop, driven by haunting vocals, atmospheric electronics and urgent rhythms.
According to the band Vochy functions as "a manifesto against lies and the abuse of power," but its resistance is expressed through an intensely personal lens.
"It’s a diary entry about internal struggle, the inability to tolerate the abuse of power, and an attempt to make sense of yourself within an endless stream of information and lies," they reveal.
It's a fantastic song that documents an internal struggle to preserve clarity amid an unrelenting current of propaganda and misinformation.
