Jordan Sand: Let’s Go Home

Norwegian artist Jordan Sand inhabits the threshold between departure and return on Let’s Go Home, the final single from her forthcoming debut album, Baby Ghost. Spare yet meditative, the track unfolds as a spectral meditation with a resonant core, placing the unusual voice of her bowed double bass at its center.

Sand approaches the instrument as far more than a source of low-end accompaniment. Scrapes, resonances and sustained tones emerge from the bow in a slow instinctive flow. The music avoids conventional resolution, allowing silence and texture to carry as much meaning as melody.

Raised on folk and church music, classically trained and later active as a freelance instrumentalist in New York, Sand underwent a profound artistic change after moving to Trondheim in 2020. An extended absence from music eventually led her toward a more abstract and impressionistic practice, with predetermined structures and lyrics yielding to improvisation.

Let’s Go Home is a haunting, minimal and entirely self-possessed number that illustrates an artist capable of extracting a complete emotional world from the grain of a string and the space surrounding it.

Baby Ghost arrives October 2nd, 2026 through Hallow Ground.
