Free from Concern take a darker turn on Anxious Existence, a weighty collision of post punk and heavy noise rock centered on addiction, anxiety and more esoteric forms of unease. The track hits with immediate force, its dense instrumentation and abrasive edges giving those themes a physical, almost oppressive presence.
Beneath the wall of tension, the band maintain a strong sense of atmosphere, balancing between overwhelming heaviness and emotional vulnerability. Anxious Existence hits with much impact, capturing the feeling of internal struggles spiraling beyond control without ever losing its sense of purpose.
The song originally began as a purely electronic composition before evolving into a full-band arrangement. Traces of that first incarnation remain in its retained clap samples, which cut through the heavier framework as a subtle reminder of its origins.
Anxious Existence was recorded, produced and mixed by the band, then mastered in Chicago by Greg Obis.
