Fernando Honorato returns as Fernando’s Eyes with Room On Fire, the project’s first new material since the 2025 album Center of Your World. Released through Aenaos Records, the track draws upon classic darkwave and dark post punk while allowing subtle dreampop undertones to soften its severe contours.
Programmed drums establish a rigid pulse against the physical impact of live toms, giving the song both mechanical discipline and human force. Lina Langendorf’s saxophone enters as texture, deepening the atmosphere without distracting from the arrangement’s deliberate forward motion. There are no extended fades and no ambiguous retreat in this beautiful number.
There is a certain level of clarity that gives Room On Fire much of its strength. Honorato, best known as the founder and vocalist of Swedish post punk band Principe Valiente, creates a sound that is brooding yet purposeful, rooted in familiar genre language but executed with precision.
The accompanying video is equally striking. Stark, shadowed and darkly stunning, it strips its imagery to an arresting minimum and gives the song’s severity a visual form. Together, track and video make Room On Fire feel like a decisive re-entry.
