Amiture Music: Idela (Feat. Eliana Glass)

Amiture Music balance heaviness, wistfulness and striking emotional directness on Idela, a collaboration with Eliana Glass taken from the forthcoming EP 2 Women. The track feels immediate but difficult to contain, carrying a melodic pull through an atmosphere that remains subtly unsettled.

Jack Whitescarver and his bandmates first composed Idela as an instrumental before inviting Glass to contribute vocals. Rather than fitting words to a predetermined concept, she responded directly to the sound, writing lyrics from the intense and unexpected connections it produced.

The accompanying video follows a similar creative path. Whitescarver and Glass began with a single image, a woman swimming in an indoor pool, and built the rest of the visual narrative around it.

Whitescarver unfolds: "We composed Idela as an instrumental song before asking Eliana if she’d like to sing on it. She wrote all the lyrics with intense and striking associations that came to her from the sound of the track. The process was magical and it only made sense to attempt to replicate it with the video. Eliana and I started with an image of a woman swimming in an indoor pool and worked backwards. I liked how many uncomfortable places you could get with a camera as small as a go pro. It was cathartic to bring such a satisfying collaboration to life through image."

Formerly known simply as Amiture, Amiture Music began in Whitescarver’s Hudson Valley college apartment in 2018 before passing through several identities. Now based in Brooklyn, the project cites as influences the new romantic elegance of The Blue Nile, the American iconoclasm of The Beach Boys and the experimental influence of Glenn Branca, This Heat and Michael Nyman.

2 Women arrives October 30th, 2026 through Dots Per Inch Music.
