Screen Pink: Continuous Disaster

Screen Pink, the newly formed Nuremberg duo of Liane Mair (Taxi Lotta) and Florian Helleken (Zement), introduce themselves with Continuous Disaster, an insistent piece of repetitive post punk built around tension, momentum and the strange appeal of malfunction.

The project’s name emerged from a very literal technological catastrophe. After the pair’s hard drive suffered the dreaded Pink Screen of Death and swallowed every song they had recorded, Mair and Helleken chose not to mourn the lost material. Instead, they transformed the failure into a new identity, and a promise that whatever followed would return louder and less predictable.

In Continuous Disaster, repetition becomes a source of pressure, allowing the track’s rhythmic patterns to grow increasingly hypnotic. Driven by a restless post punk pulse, Screen Pink already sound like much more than the product of an accident. Their first reveal presents a fresh act well worth following.
