Japanese shoegaze outfit Oeil return with Electric Dreams, a new single that blends hazy nineties alternative rock with shimmering dreampop textures and weightless vocals. Arriving after 2025's Dream within a Dream, the track serves as the first taste of the band's next full-length and points toward another immersive chapter in their evolving sound.
Reflecting on the new single, Oeil shares: “The memories you hold tightly might just be mere records after all. Yet, the loneliness, the obsessions, and the yearnings that lead nowhere—those remain raw and undeniably real. This song begins right at that boundary.”
Released alongside the single, the accompanying video opens with a sheep running through a surreal, dreamlike landscape, echoing the song's blurred line between memory and emotion. Speaking about the visual concept, the band explains: “Feelings can transcend time. We wanted to create a sense of jumping across space and time, allowing consciousness alone to live on out there. We hope to share that exact sensation with our listeners.”
