Julia Gaeta continues to refine her cinematic take on dark electronic music with BLEED, a pulsating new single produced alongside Matia Simovich. Rooted in rich analog synth textures, the track channels the propulsion of late-nineties electronic pop while maintaining the dramatic tension and immersive atmosphere that define Gaeta's work.
Driven by hypnotic rhythms and towering synth arrangements, BLEED balances dancefloor momentum with an underlying sense of urgency. The composition also reflects an early influence that has stayed with Gaeta throughout her artistic journey; Gustav Holst's Mars, the Bringer of War, whose imposing intensity echoes through the song's dynamic progression.
Gaeta also steps behind the camera for the first time, directing the accompanying visual herself. Inspired by the surreal aesthetics of Dario Argento, the video unfolds in a detached, otherworldly setting where conventional identities dissolve, allowing movement and physical expression to become symbols of liberation.
Gaeta comments: "I wanted to imagine a post-expectations era, where women no longer have to answer to anyone. What would our power look like? How would we wield it? What would its true magnitude be?
"BLEED is my attempt to step into that vacuum - to dance in it, and to imagine what becomes physically and culturally possible when expectation falls away."
Overall, BLEED is a reflection on womanhood, acknowledging resilience, sacrifice and the struggle for autonomy through a powerful blend of electronic precision and emotional fluctuation.
