Lafayette, Louisiana shoegaze band Cashier shine on Angels All Around, a standalone single packed with abrasive guitars, restless energy and underlying melancholy.
Drawing from the heavier side of nineties alternative rock, the track combines surging fuzz and piercing feedback with impassioned vocals, capturing the rawer, punk-driven edge of contemporary shoegaze.
More recently, the band has come up with the EP The Weight which further establishes them as one of the underground’s most compelling emerging names. Their small yet consistently strong catalogue is well worth exploring.
