Emerging from Brooklyn’s underground scene, ADMIN returns with What Happens, the first single from the forthcoming EP Mirrored Construct, due out in June 2026 via Abandoned Everything Records.
Driven by pulsing basslines, kinetic rhythms, and shimmering synth work, What Happens leans into the band’s more dance-oriented sensibilities while carrying a restless energy that feels immediate and alive. The track moves with purpose, balancing atmosphere and momentum in equal measure.
ADMIN brings together members of Brooklyn acts Monograms, Grim Streaker, and Balaclava, featuring Piyal Basu on drums, Arif Hama on bass, Amelia Hazen on guitar and vocals, and Ian Jacobs on vocals and synth.
“It was more about locking into a mood,” says vocalist Ian Jacobs. “Something steady, hypnotic but still fully alive. The song is also about spinning away from the mundane in life and aiming to create something more, focusing on what’s really important. Living. Exploring. Feeling. Getting out of the sedation and routines that are so easy to get caught up in, so we wanted something sonically that reflected that atmosphere as well. Cycles that can be broken.”
The song reflects a desire to step beyond repetition and reconnect with a deeper sense of movement and presence, while both its sound and atmosphere carry that feeling of pushing past routine, and staying open to the moments that make life feel vivid and real.
