Recorded live, with mixing by Amaury Sauvé (The Apiary) and mastering by Thibaut Chaumont (Deviant Lab), the song signals a clear shift for the band. Their hardcore and post metal foundation dives deeper, both sonically and emotionally, with lower tunings, heavier weight, but also a newfound sense of vulnerability. At its core lies a stark metaphor. There is depression as a thick, inescapable swamp, where every step only pulls the listener further under.
Switching between French and English, the lyrics reflect a fractured state of mind, blurring clarity and confusion. This tension carries into the self-directed video, which visually echoes the song’s oppressive mood and inner turmoil.
