Honey I'm Home: Hyperspace Mountain

The updated sound of Honey I’m Home carries a sense of arrival, even as their new offering circles themes of absence from the self. Recorded largely in familiar, private spaces and later shaped in New York alongside Steve Vealey during a brief stretch around SXSW, the track feels like something that outgrew its room without losing its origin.

There’s a noticeable shift in weight, leaning toward heavier territories, and sounding more immediate. The new single, Hyperspace Mountain, moves with a broad, shoegaze density, its surface full and enveloping, yet what it holds underneath is more restrained and inward-facing.

At its core, the song traces the habit of stepping aside; of softening one’s edges to accommodate others, of learning to shrink in order to keep things smooth. It reflects the erosion that comes with people-pleasing, where presence becomes negotiable and the self is gradually repositioned further back.

The band explains: "“Hyperspace Mountain” is about sidelining yourself — and the frustration that comes with it, and the desire for that to change. The track reflects how we see the new wave of shoegaze evolving: an intense guitar-driven track that leans heavily on electronic sounds."
