FREE ZORBA THE HOOLIGAN move with their instinct, letting their sound shift in ways that feel immediate and honest. Following their debut EP BURNER from March 2025, a release that pulled from punk, hardcore, and dub, the band now lean into something more stripped back and exposed, with the edges feeling sharper.
Released via Howlin’ Banana Records, the new single AMERIKA carries an unsettled energy that sits somewhere between industrial noise and fractured melodicism. At its core, the song reflects on a kind of quiet erosion.
The band explains: "AMERIKA explores how society's obsession with productivity turns silence and exitence itself into sources of fear, and in doing so robs us of the quiet spaces where human magic truly happens. We're being taught how to live by life itself but we're too busy to listen to it."
What emerges is a piece that feels confrontational and inward-looking at the same time. As the first in a run of singles planned through 2026, AMERIKA lays down a tone that feels fully committed to its direction, as if bracing for what is expected to follow.
