There's a certain type of peacefulness that exists on the verge of slumber where memory distorts, time folds in on itself, and the present instant appears ages old. Eric Angelo Bessel has quietly created musical environments for that threshold.
Mirror at Night B-Sides, a 7" EP, will be released on March 27th, 2026, and will expand on the ethereal world first introduced in 2025's Mirror at Night. The new album consists of two instrumental tracks that fall in between dream logic and cultural digging.
Bessel employs contemporary production tools, but the results feel strangely disconnected from modernity. These pieces appear to have been retrieved from under the surface, murmuring in some vault of communal recollection.
Bessel says: “Double Helix feels excavated from time itself—ancient and futuristic at once, drifting through memory like a half-remembered dream.”
That notion, both vintage and future-forward, forms the philosophical core of Mirror at Night B-Sides. These works dissolve the distinctions between awareness and dreaming, while the 7" format itself conveys the idea of something precious and tangible.
