Cold Cause: Road

Cold Cause come forward with a strong new offering. Road, the second single from their forthcoming debut, leans fully into a cinematic sensibility, arriving with a nocturnal character, and being quite patient in the way it unfolds.

The song conveys a subtle, lingering tension that never quite goes away, feeling as though it is suspended between motion and stillness. Being present in the gaps between beat and atmosphere, it holds weight and resonance.

Drawing from post punk, EBM, and the broader lineage of darkwave and synth-driven melancholia, Road doesn’t settle into any single reference point, and feels cohesive and inward-looking. There’s a sense of emotional distance, but also moments where warmth surfaces in an almost fragile manner, offering brief relief without breaking the mood.

Cold Cause's debut album, set for release on April 10th, 2026 through Manic Depression Records, introduces the French-German trio with a sound that feels fully formed yet open. Road suggests a band attentive to atmosphere and emotion in equal measure, capable of building tension without excess.
