Philadelphia-based band Fire In The Radio will release the reissue of their debut album Red Static Action on January 16th, 2026 via Wednesday Records. The expanded release includes two previously unreleased tracks, Hide the Knives and Prairie, which quietly signal the beginning of a new chapter for the band. Red Static Action, along with the bonus tracks, has been remastered, and the new material remixed, by Jesse Gander (Japandroids, White Lung, Dave Hause).
While searching for a rehearsal space to revisit Red Static Action, the band reached out to Inner Ear Studios, where Don Zientara of Fugazi unexpectedly offered them the studio itself. As Fire In The Radio shook off the rust, new songs began to take shape. Hearing something spark, Zientara stepped in and suggested recording them live to tape with minimal overdubs. The resulting tracks capture the band's moment of reconnection and forward motion.
With great, addictive guitar work and an inviting energy that sits between sixties garage rock, power pop, and post punk, Prairie is an immaculate, absorbing piece of energetic rock ’n’ roll.
