This Is What It Feels Like, set for release on March 5th, 2026, is a live album and concert film by Down The Lees, captured at the Mary Irwin Theatre in Kelowna, British Columbia. The project was made possible with support from Creative BC and the Province of British Columbia, filmed by Irisphere Entertainment, and mixed by Jesse Gander (ANCIIENTS, Brutus).
The song Dead and Over, first released in 2023, explores themes of exhaustion, growing older, and the unique challenges women face within the music industry. Written during the pandemic, it emerged at a time when the band's Laura Lee Schultz was questioning her future as a musician.
For this release, the track is reimagined in a live setting, delivering a rawer and more direct interpretation. The performance showcases the band’s current formation and illustrates the song’s evolution, from a self-recorded origin to a fully realized live piece enhanced by its visual presentation.
