Child of Night: Controlled Burn

Child Of Night re-emerge with Controlled Burn, their first new material in some time and the project’s first release since 2023’s The Fool. It’s a return that feels focused, and steeped in immersive atmosphere.

One more time, Child Of Night fully embrace a seductive EBM framework, ditching the more rock-oriented approach in favor of synths. The track is propelled forward by pulsing rhythms and tense beats that retain the project's distinctive sense of unease while recalling a very nineties club sensibility. Dark and immediate, the outcome is undoubtedly one of the most engaging standalone works in the Child of Night catalog to date.

Beneath the song's vitality is a deeper conceptual decline, as they succinctly describe the song's emotional core: "Controlled Burn is an examination of what it's like to love in the modern world, under the shadow of total imperial collapse."

It’s a vivid example of how Child Of Night can turn existential weight into something that still moves with intent, and a clear signal of what may follow.
