Leaning toward the grungier edge of the shoegaze spectrum, Pileup deliver a guitar-driven sound that’s impossible to ignore. Hailing from Portland, Oregon, the band fuses slowcore-inspired songwriting with heavier textures, creating music that hums with pure emotion.
Their debut single, Lightning, from the impending album Leave The Light On, combines banjo-tinged arrangements and chorus-laden guitars to create an electric contemplation on the conflict between nature and advancement.
The track was recorded over eight immersive days at The Unknown in Anacortes with engineer Nicholas Wilbur, merging DIY influences from both coasts into an intimate yet expansive sound, emotionally rich and sonically vibrant.
Leave The Light On will be out February 24th, 2026, via Pleasure Tapes Ltd. and Flesh & Bone Records.
