Pictureplane: Night Falls

Pictureplane has unveiled a new single and video, Night Falls, from the forthcoming album Sex Distortion, out October 31st, 2025. Recorded largely in the solitude of the artist's Brooklyn studio, Sex Distortion combines driving Italo synths, misty lo-fi drum machines, and deep-register vocals to create an exuberant, nearly delirious soundscape. Co-produced and refined with Ben Greenberg (Uniform, The Men) and Mike Birnbaum, and mastered by Joe LaPorta (Sterling Sound), the album expands Pictureplane’s world into something more intimate, more haunted, and more sublime than before.

Sex Distortion is expected to be a record of warped and broken love songs that sparkles with neo-gothic electronica that is both vulnerable and grim. The single and accompanying video, Night Falls, serves as the album’s first transmission, as a lone spiritual quest into the night, leading to a psychedelic and supernatural awakening.

Shot entirely on a rural mezcal farm deep in Oaxaca, Mexico, and directed and edited by Eduardo Caudillo, the video captures Pictureplane’s vision of transformation through darkness, a communion between body and spirit.
