Kiritsis: Knuckles

Kiritsis deliver heaviness with intent; a volatile fusion of noise rock, post hardcore, stoner, and sludge, all channeled into raw and unrelenting energy.

Their new offering, Knuckles, opens with an audio clip of Tony Kiritsis, the man who in 1977 held his mortgage broker, Dick Hall, hostage with a "dead man’s line" in one of the most infamous televised standoffs in American history. That three-day ordeal, which ended with Kiritsis found not guilty by reason of insanity, gave the band both their name and their ethos. This is danger at the edge of control.

In a way, Kiritsis’ sound mirrors that tension. It's adrenaline-charged, volatile, and crushingly heavy. Instead of harm, the chaos leaves the listener all stripped down and strangely purified.

Fittingly, the band describes Knuckles as “a song about standing up and not taking sh*t.
