Continuing being a notable fresh act for their layered and evolving sound, DETECTS use this release to highlight their progression, together with their refusal to stand still creatively.
Catch-up carries a menacing undercurrent, with jagged guitars cutting through swells of mesmerizing synth work, while framing vocals that sting with reflection.
As a whole, MINUS is a sharp, streamlined record. Its nine tracks, most clocking in at three minutes or less, flow with a type of immediacy that makes the album easy to absorb in one sitting, while still delivering a varied and compelling sonic palette.
