Deformr: Bury Me Under the Cherry Blossoms

Deformr is the electronic alter ego of Trevor Harte Howard (The Lungs, ÆGES, The Acid Helps), a longtime staple of the Los Angeles underground and current composer for the acclaimed true crime podcast Swindled. The project returns with an eerie new single, Bury Me Under the Cherry Blossoms, from the upcoming EP We’ve Met Before, Haven’t We?, out June 23rd, 2025 via Dune Altar.

The track, mixed by Joseph Holiday (Snakes of Russia) and mastered by Gregg Cash at Vibe Tech Industries, combines ambient pop, industrial minimalism, and trip hop into a sound which immediately feels unconventional and deeply fascinating, being all volatile, enigmatic, and emotionally resonant from start to finish.

Deformr comments on the new track: "Bury Me Under the Cherry Blossoms came from a place of quiet devastation. I wanted to build something that felt like grief unfolding in slow motion — disjointed, fragile, but still reaching toward something beautiful. It’s all modular synth, broken rhythms, ghostly vocal fragments. No lyrics, but it says what it needs to.
