Karate, Guns & Tanning: New Tropic

It’s worth staying consistent in following the singles released by Karate, Guns & Tanning ahead of their upcoming album. The band has proven themselves to be a compelling and promising act, continually creating with both integrity and imagination.

New Tropic is their third standout single from the forthcoming album Krisis Genre, and it oozes with dreamlike psychedelia.

The band explains: "This track explores themes of conflict and change. Relationships can have a darkness, even a hidden violence of sorts, underneath. It's the first song this lineup collectively worked on, and brought with it more experiments into the psychedelic. It's heavily influenced by world music. We wanted to feature more dynamics on this album, and this is full of starts and stops. It's like a trip through a strange land with sensory overload. We collaborated with Andrew Knives on the video, and he played off the psych elements and created something resembling a 1960s malaria fever dream. Fitting!"
