sadplanet: four days

sadplanet, a dreamy shoegaze band from London, has emerged with their first single, four days. The group's debut release is a contemplative and ethereal piece which also reflects the band members' emo and grunge roots in a subtle manner.

Co-produced by Dominic Freeman and mixed by Ben Easton of Deary, four days was mastered by shoegaze veteran Simon Scott of Slowdive. The rather meticulous and intricate production of four days has resulted in a luminous and dynamic debut, and that is not the song's only strength.

Echoes of Cocteau Twins are instant in four days, still, the song also possesses a refreshing expansiveness. As the song progresses, it builds into a stirring, guitar-driven wave of buoyant and wistful energy, leaving a lasting impression over its beautiful five-minute duration. It brings together arpeggiated synth melodies with rich guitars, a melodic rhythm section, vigorous drums, and sweet-toned vocals, all of which merge to give way to a standout debut.
