Detroit's VAZUM have returned with their characteristic dark rock in full effect. Night Shade, the duo's recent single, is a gothic rocker with plenty amounts of moodiness and energy, bringing together their fine blend of post punk, deathrock and shoegaze sounds with goth aesthetics.
Night Shade, through its gritty and hard-hitting nature, presents the natural chemistry between the male and female vocals, creating an atmosphere which is compelling and familiar. The lyrics delve into the narrative of an individual consumed by an uncontrollable craving for attention, ultimately spiraling into a self-destructive path.
The song was recorded and produced by VAZUM during the harsh Winter months in Michigan, and released in January 2023. Due to its dark energy, it has become an essential part of the band's live shows.
